Well, the best thing to do is upgrade to ProTERM 3.1 from
http://www.intrec.com/ Intrec. 3.0 users get to upgrade at
lower cost.

Forget the SSC dip switches. ProTERM 3.0's settings over-
ride the DIP settings, which control baud rate. Just set to
19200 IN PROTERM 3.0 and forget about the DIPs.

Use the SupraFAXmodem setting. Problem with this setting
is that it does not seem to know when a connection is
established. For example, the modem might return
CONNECT 14.4 V32.BIS or something but ProTERM 3.0
does not recognize the connect message.

Here's what you do. Set the connect time to something long,
like 99 seconds. Let the modem dial. Listen for the
handshaking sounds. When the modem has connected, the
speaker should turn off. At this point, ProTERM normally
switches to terminal mode, but in this case it does not recognize
the connect message, so it just keeps on counting. Give
the modem another 5 to 7 seconds AFTER the speaker
goes dead, then hit ESC twice followed by OPTION-T.
You are now in terminal mode and all is well.

Upgrading to ProTERM 3.1 will restore automatic connect
function, but ProTERM 3.0 will suffice if you don't mind
sitting in front of the IIe until it connects.

If the SupraFAXmodem setting does not work, also try
the Zoom Telephonics modem settings.
