Also, monkeying with the S95 register will help. The (RTS/CTS) settings will
automatically lock the port rate, but if it isn't there ProTERM tries to
autobaud. S95=44 causes the connect to look something like
CARRIER 9600
PROTOCOL: LAP-M
COMPRESSION: V.42BIS
CONNECT 38400
As long as that connect line matches what ProTERM's previously-set port rate
is, ProTERM is fooled and we're all happy.
If (RTS/CTS) is in there, then setting S95 to spit the connect out on one line
works.
My US Robotics Sportster behaved fine with ProTERM 3.0 and 3.1 even when the
connect lines looked like
CONNECT 14400/ARQ/V32/LAPM/V42BIS
