But the iMac doesn't necessarily seem to be closed.  There's one
company that is putting out a card for the bottom slot that has
a standrad Mac serial port and support for an external monitor.

Supposedly a German company is coming out with an Ultra-SCSI
card for the iMac.

All this does remain to be seen though.  It's not actually on
the market, so things can change.
