You DO have a bootable diskette in that drive, don't you????
If not, that's what you should get!
When you get the 'Check Startup Device' message, just hit
Ctrl-Reset, and you should be at the ] prompt. That's
the old Applesoft Basic.
If you read other messages in this group, you'll see a lot of
recommendations for Alltech Electronic's Focus Hard-Drive Card.
It's a hard drive on a card that plugs into your GS. I got mine
a couple months ago. Well worth it.
