GS/OS file typing
I've got my GS running (thanks to Bob Rivkin for
making GS/OS disks for me).
Now I've hit another wall. I'm running CAP 6.0 on
a Solaris machine to serve files to the GS over
AppleShare. Everything works great, except when
I copy a self-extracting copy of Shrink-It over
to the GS, I can't run it. The file shows up
under Icon Info as a text document.
CAP does file typing by extention. I need to map the
.bin extension to a GS/OS (or ProDOS 8?) application
so that it comes across as the right file type.
CAP uses 4 byte identifiers for type. I tried APPL
and the .bin files showed up as Macintosh Applications
(closer).
Anyone know how I need to define the mapping in CAP?
What about re-typing the file once it is on the GS?
Note that I don't have much more than just GS/OS
6.0.1 installed on the machine at this point.
