Re: Network the II?
Hi Jay,
Thanks for the following info and post concerning 'Network the II'.
You posted the following - very useful information, which is indeed correct in
content, name, etc.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Hope this helps (you're talking a few inches above my head):
Mastery Products (I think they changed their name a bit a couple of years ago)

IIgs computers. Their network hardware includes: Teacher station network card,
hard disk, Apple IIe, and IIgs network cards.
They provide a two-week trial, you provide the computers, they provide
everything else: hard drive, software, 5 network interface cards and cables,
modem and all necessary documention necessary to install the network, including
a step-by-step video.
Absolutely no cost or obligation. They even pay shipping, BOTH WAYS!

I called their toll free 800 number and requested the video. I also
confired with the sales agent that the system package and bundle runs around
$1000 and it's designed more for schools than for the home user. Seeing as how
so many school systems would value having this network system-
software/hardware bundle and how many Apple II's are still in use by many
school systems today, I discussed all information offered about this Apple II
network system with one of the developers named Scott.
He's sending me all available information, with text files and graphics,
specs., technical information and pricing by surface priority mail.
As soon as I get it all, I'll be providing most of it via my web site:
http://www.grin.net/~cturley/
I intend to provide a folder with digital scans of all the graphics sent to me
and all text info, etc. I have many visits and email requests for information
on such from teachers nearly each day to my Apple II website. This will be a
great addition to provide them with the information about the school network
bundle offered from Mastery Products.
They have a website under development now and I'l be providing a link to it
from the folder that will host all this on my website, in the near future.
I'll make another post to announce everything again, as soon as it's all done
and available from my website. Thanks for the info on this. IMHO, your post
was very much productive to the needs of school systems desiring network
abilities with their existing Apple II computer models!
Cheers,
Tom
