//e key repeat problem...help!!

Hello All,

I have an old //e.....the one with the keyboard that has white lettered
keys.  I took is all apart cleaned everything and everytime I hit a key it
repeats until I press another.....and that key repeats.  Otherwise the
computer seems to operate fine.  Would this be a bad keyboard, or maybe a
bad chip on the MB?  I just got this machine not to long ago and didn't
plug it in before I disassembled it, so I don't know if I caused the
problem, or if it was that way already.

Can this white keyed keyboard be replaced with a later black keyed keyboard?
If I remember correctly they mount a little differently.  Thew spacebar on
the keyboard is missing the little wire bar that keeps it from tilting from
side to side and binding.
