Under DOS 3.3, that is EXACTLY how you do it.

Be aware that if you are working with TEXT file commands, this can result
in the annoying NOT DIRECT COMMAND error unless you change the prompt
character byte (sorry, I don't remember where that is) OR you call the
6502 routine from an Applesoft program (or at least while an Applesoft
program is running).
