It will work, but the trick is getting the IIGS and its accelerator card
down to the lower temperatures. I doubt the IIGS was built for this
type of cooling, so if you try to use dry ice to cool it, the solder joints
would probably crack. However, I would like to try taking a IIGS
with a TransWarp GS out into the patio in the dead of winter when
the temperatures are -4 degrees C or lower and trying out faster
oscillators. I'll bet it will run faster than any GS ever ran. ;-)
It should be possible to go AT LEAST 20Mhz, the speed the WDC
chips CAN go, as proven by CMD's Commodore accelerators.
The lower temperatures will just make the OTHER chips on the
TWGS perform better and let the 65C816 realize its potential.
And this, by the way, is what Ronald must be asking because I've
answered a few TWGS questions raised by him....he's thinking
about cooling his TWGS!
