Fujitsu modem help please
Please help - Fujitsu modem
I bought a modem labeled FUJITSU M1921L at a thrift store. It looks very
useful but I have no instructions and am not very familiar with electronic
devices. Its power light comes on and it prints messages in its window.
Please help me install and use it with an Apple.
Because I am familiar with SOFTERM 2 communications, I prefer to use it
with a ][e but if necessary I could use it with an enhanced //e or a ][+.
I have been using an Apple superserial card; other serial cards are
available. A couple of telephone connectors are availble
You can post here or with electron icmail - p035631b@pb.seflin.org. Either
way, if I do not thank you for your help, you will know I missed your
reply.
Here is a description of the appearance of the device.
The front panel includes a window, bank of lights, switches (under a cover)
and 0/1 switch. The window provides for messages in two rows of 16 LCD
characters. The lights are labeled: POWER, TD, RD, RTS, CD, DTR, SQD ("Q"
looks like a Greek letter), and TEST. The first six lights are also
labeled under the cover: BIT ERROR, OVF, 8, 4, 2, 1.
Also under the cover are an LCD brightness knob and two columns of buttons.
The buttons are labeled DISPLAY, -->, SET, MEMORY, +, -, RESET, and CLEAR.
The following are on the back:
Two screws near the power cord connector. One of them is marked "HARD WIRE
TO PROT ETH." Two DB25 female connectors labeled DTE A and DTE B (DTE C
and DTE D are blank). Four screws labeled TX and RX.
The following notations appear on the underside:
Model M1921L3
Date 1987 - 10
Engineering change list:
EC level 02
Function list A
Rev label:
M1921L3-MD A0
