Which slot in your IIgs?  Is that slot set to "Your Card"?  Does the
card (especially near the gold "fingers") look physically OK?

You say "detach" instead of "remove"--does this mean you've got the
external Mockingboard, the Mockingboard D?  The IIgs has slightly
different serial ports, so it may need a Super Serial Card for a
Mockingboard D to work.

Mockingboards won't output the IIgs's standard sounds, only the sounds
that a few programs send directly to the card will be played.
