Not "opposed only" so much as annoyed by a lack of gratitude for
the work done by the crackers. The originals came in non-copiable form
and crackers, when they truly succeeded, produced deprotected copies
which can be archived for downloading. That is a valuable service.
It should not be terribly difficult to obtain 'clean' deprotected
copies of many originals. All you need is the originals and a set of
Computists. For several games, deprotects have been posted here and/or
other places. No doubt, many users have already-deprotected 'clean'
versions of some games.
If you, Gabriel, and a few other users are willing to play-test
deprotected copies, it should be possible to come up with a pretty
decent collection of 'no-banner' deprotected oldies.
