It sounds like an unfriendly Init, NDA, or CDA may still be
lurking in your setup. What files are in you main SYSTEM/System.Setup/
folder? If any Init associated with WindowMgr remains, try deleting it
(or move it out to some "TempHold/" or whatever folder).
Something else to try is going to the SetStart control panel (CDEV)
and making sure that you are set to start with the standard Finder.
Another try is to delete Desktop in the main ICONS/ folder.
