    High Density 5.25 disks do *not* at all function in a Double Density
floppy drive, they won't read, write or format. If you do attempt to use 
one you'll get a constant report of errors from software, not that any
data will make it on or off the media.

    You can usually identify an HD 5.25 disk by the lack of a plastic
ring around the inner center of the disk.
