HD disks have a higher coercivity force. That means you will need a
stronger magnetic field to write information onto the disk. Sometimes it
works, but you will lose your data after a certain time.

Of course this applies for 3.5" disks, and also for Metal audio tape
(vs. cromium dioxide) and DDS-3 streamer cartridges.
