You will need a boot disk.  You see, the older Apples have some SW burnt into
their ROM chips in the computer, that work hand in hand with the SW read from
the floppies.  Each software that you run has a boot program on it.  Every
program you run from a floppy, starts the computer.  You can only run one
program at a time.
