I am unsure what experience you have outside the Apple field, but I have
two letters and one number for you: OS/2. Great operating system, Warp4
would've put a hurting on Win95 (*IF* the twits had gone toe to toe with
MicroSoft), but no plan for the future and no real support behind it. Let me
also clue you in on a few things:

1> You *never* take donations for something that doesn't exist. In most
circumstances that is called fraud. These are pledges, but without a
predefined plan for action. If the "Save the GS" was pitched at a room full
of investors, they would want hard data on: How much does Apple want to sell
the rights for? How could we progress from the point of owning the rights to
making equipment? How would materials be given out to developers to ensure
new products are made? Etc.. Etc.. Etc.. A "give me your money and I'll go
out and do it" approach would fall flat.

2> "You can pledge to buy shares (10 max, $25 each) in the new IIgs
Computing Company" as quoted from the page referrenced before. This is going
to be a company, not an organization. If a company wants to buy the rights
from Apple it will be seen differently than an organization, as a company is
usually a competitor. So, what are the plans for the IIgs Computing Company?
Do they have a plant where they can assemble the computers? What do they
plan to offer as a company? Do they plan to hire people who can modify ROM
codes? Will they release the Mark Twain? Etc.. Etc.. Etc..

All I see is someone asking for money, forming a company, and trying to
buy the rights of a computer. That is it. I would expect a well thought out
list of goals on the web page, not to mention research on copyright law and
talking with Apple over the possibility to purchase rights to the IIGS. It
just looks bad as is.
