Apple plotter A9M0302P - any info please?

Hi, I just got hold of an old apple plotter as in the subject,

 what I'm after is any info at all on this device.

What I get at the moment from selotaping a pen to it is a nice test
picture, I figure it's a serial interface.

what would be very useful is info on how to drive the thing or maybe some
software for a pc that could do this.
or any info on the type of data it needs?

failing this does anyone know if you can still get pens for it?
Or what the 8 dip switches at the back do?

Or even if this is the wrong group for this request?
