Surprisingly, there are still a fair bit left in the Apple II
world, or at least according to what is listed on the Apple II BBS
List that used to be posted monthly to comp.sys.apple2.
Here in the 514 area (about to split into 450 and 514) we still
have one Apple II BBS running, even on an Apple IIgs with FV/Metal.
I was even upgraded from file manager to co-sysop several months
back, although admittedly I rarely call these days since I can now
correspond with all the users through the Internet (they're all
online now). Most people calling the board these days are either
just looking for general chit-chat or, ironically, Macintosh
support and discussion. I've not had a strong interest in BBSes
for at least the past 7 years now (roughly the amount of time
I've had Internet access). It seems almost strange to think of
a modem doing anything else these days except call up an ISP. :)
