Hang on, Marteem said this was a IIe.

Why would Quark bother making a special device to do a shift-key mod in
the IIe, when there is an option for it on the motherboard?  (The II+
and IIe have different keyboard connection arrangements, so this device
wouldn't work in a II+.)
