I think it would have been the Mac 512 that wasn't selling well by April
1985, if we take Todd's dates as correct.  :-)

The '512 was released in September 1984, according to GURU.

I'm not sure when the Mac XL (Lisa with mods) came out - it doesn't seem
to be listed.

The Mac Plus was January 1986, so there was certainly a large gap in
there.
