Internal Modem
I have, potentially, a stupid question. How difficult would it be to
convert an external modem into an internal one (for a GS). Here's the
basic idea:
a) Having an internal modem is a pretty nice thing, as it takes up less
desk space and basically makes for a prettier looking system. Plus it
would just be a cool thing to do. The idea is, basically, 2400 just ain't
fast enough.
b) It wouldn't necessarily have to depend upon the slot for I/O--although
it would be nice if it could use it for power (or maybe the fan plug?).
c) So, a cable would come out the back, and connect to the IIgs' modem
port. Maybe power could even be gotten off of the ADB port a la Teleport
Bronze.
d) It could also theoretically use a MicroModem style interface, where all
the wires came out together and then went to a box where plugs (and
possibly power) could be sorted out there.
Tell me what you think,
