You may try this:
If you are booting with System 6.0x, be sure to get rid of Insyder driver
and of Apple SCSI drivers in *:system:drivers. Then set or remove a
specific jumper on the Cirtech SCSI board (I don't have my manual at hand,
I recall however that this was the P jumper). Thus the (20|40) MB
integrated drive is no more identified as a smart port device but as a
ProDOS Block device under GS/OS and ProDOS 8. The access speed is low due
to the generated driver but it's better than nothing.
Otherwise if you can't boot with System 5.0.4, things look odd.
Hope this helps
Michael
PS: Alternatively did you try to boot under P8 directly?
