I'm trying to get my SCSI drives working again on my
Apple IIgs, but I can't get the Cirtech SCSI Card to
work right.
Symptoms are: the system will boot off of a 3.5"
disk (using a Unidisk), then reaches the ProDOS
splash screen, and it stops accessing disk and
locks up. A control-reset pops into the system
monitor (not Applesoft).
I've tried the following:
- Change drive SCSI ID
- Change card SCSI ID (was 5, then 7, then 0)
- Remove drive data cable from drive
- Remove drive data cable from Apple
- Move card from slot 7 to slot 6 (also because
of interest in using Appletalk)
- Disable Appletalk
- Boot other diskettes (with differing
versions of ProDOS)
- Download most current Apple IIGS
System Utilities and boot
The only things that "worked" were:
- Remove card from slot
- Disable card in Apple IIGS firmware
I hope someone isn't going to tell me its
fried..... I've always had some trouble
getting this thing going, so I'm hopeful
that's all it is now.
