That sure got my attention fast ;-)
I've since used the FontPimp demo to convert a PC TrueType font, and to tell
you the truth, I was amazed at how fast FontPimp was. It couldn't have taken
more than a few seconds. It also handled the conversion problem-free.
My suggestion to include a sample PC based TrueType font with future
uploads of the FontPimp demo was to make it easy for people to try out
FontPimp. After all, I didn't know exactly where to download a PC-based
TrueType font, and had to look around for one.
FontPimp (judging by having used the demo) is a good program, and it's
certainly of a commercial quality. But, my comments about commercial vs
shareware vs freeware were based on the fact that, in this day and age, it's
really hard to sell any Apple II software products, and the amount of copies
sold - even a best seller in 1998 - would just be a fraction of what it
was a few years ago.
As I said to Tom, whether you decide to make it freeware, shareware or
commercial, you'll get my support. In fact, I'll make you guys a public
offer...
If you do decide to make it a commercial program, send me a brochure or press
release of some kind, and I'll include that with all the packages of
Pointless that go out.
That offer is not dependant on anything.
That said, if you are wanting a publisher or distributor, you now know a real
good way to get my attention ;-)
