Use BINSCII or BSC.IT. Both are ProDOS 8 programs and will convert
BSC files (which are text files so be sure to transfer them in TEXT
mode) back into their original binary version.

You may run across the extension .BSQ a lot too. This is simply a
ShrinkIt archive file (.SHK) that has been encoded into a text file
(.BSC) for posting to comp.binaries.apple2 or to send via e-mail.
People just use the .BSQ to let you know that you will also have to
unShrink the resulting file once you download it and unBINSCII it.

For any IIgs users reading, you can use the above programs or GSCII+
NDA, the BINHQX XCMD in Spectrum, and I believe there is also a shell
program (I think it is called SSCII but I'm not sure). StolenBase NDA
might do it as well but I think that is only for decoding Base 64
files.

All these files, with the exception of the BINHQX XCMD which requires
Spectrum, should be available for download from Genie, Delphi and the
major FTP sites such as ground.isca.uiowa.edu and apple2.caltech.edu.
