It sounds like HyperTerminal might have missed the end sequence from
Spectrum (or one of the programs isn't implementing it correctly).

If you are driving the file transfer from the IIgs end, try typing
several Ctrl-X characters in a row (the ZModem abort sequence requires
five of them).
