Zip drive again

ok, I have tried using the finder, wings, and prosel-16 to copy files
from a focus card to a zip drive.
 
Nothing will work over 800k, no matter if I have a 30 meg Prodos of HFS 
volume (from partition) to copy to.
 
Any ideas why? This is with an apple hi-speed SCSI, but I have the same 
report from someone using a ramfast and a zip drive.
 
any ideas?
