Zip disk on SCSI

Can anyone tell me how to best set-up a zip dreive disk to use w/ an
apple scsi card? I have use of both of these & want to try it out; so fra
it seems a little flakey.

The "check scsi" util that comes w/apple scsi utils says none is
connected, but it does show uo w/ 86. meg free. However, on return to
finder I get 2 "device not recognized" errors before I can go on.

While trying to copy 25 megs onto the zip, I got an "out of memory error"
(have Ram-GS w/ 4 megs)
and while trying to toss folder from zip into GS trash I got $006A
generic FST error.

Help is appreciated; my guess is i first must format that zip disk: how
best to do so?
thanks!

oh, how best to set-up slots?
Do I have to give up either modem or printer to set to "your card"?
slot 3 hold holds zip-gs accelerator, slot 7 has focus card.

Again, thanks for the help!
