Apple Imagewriter LQ

I am having difficulty setting up an Imagewriter LQ on my //gs.  I am using
Appleworks 5.0 and system 6.0.1 from a hard drive and an Apple HS SCSI card.
I have 8 megs on a Sirius Ram //gs.  The Imagewriter LQ self tests OK but
when I try to print to it My information just dumps to the printer and
nothing happens.  Do I need a special printer cable?  I am using the one I
used with my IW//.  Are there special code settings that need to be
changed??  Any help would be a appreciated.  Thanks!!!
