I tried both the white apple key + control + reset, the dark apple key +
control + reset, and even both apple keys +control + reset. They all bring
me to the same place. The screen scolls up a white blank screen, then a
black screen that has "RAM:" on the top left hand corner.
I tried opening up the system and pushing down on the chips like you said
just to make sure they are fitted in properly.
The problem really is running a certain software. Now I have a boot up disk
and it works fine. It boots up, brings me to a screen, and it says "please
insert appleworks programs disk." When I pop in the disk, it reads drive 1
(where the disk is), then switches over and tries to read drive 2 (no disk
in it) and then stops. the screen doesn't change, it still asks for the
programs disk.
Now I know that it could be a problem with the programs disk, but I just
want to make sure that maybe it couldn't be anything else, like a hardware
problem. And yes, this system is a very old one. Please respond on your
thoughts to this. Thank you..
