Most electronic peripherals that use the wall outlet block type power
supplies, usually list the voltage and polarity somewhere on the case
near the power supply connector.  Usually you can just pick up a
multi-voltage adapter at Radio Shack and use the switches on it to set
it for the proper voltage and polarity and plug in the appropriate
connector and away you go.

I'd go for using the nameless 14.4 if I were you.  :-)
