Too-sensitive mouse

I just bought myself a Mouse Systems ADB mouse. It works wonderfully
except that the "click" is too sensitive. I may want to select an icon,
but it gets launched. I may want to put the insert cursor in a word, but
the word gets selected. In the General Control Panel I have the mouse
speed set to fast and the click speed to slowest. Any suggestions for a
fix?

Oh, yes, ... and I'm running this on a GS :-)
