Re: Reel-to-reel on //e?

I still have about 40 apple // tapes in a case someplace that I used to
load and play all the time. Games mostly. I used to use a Sony walk-man
and/or a panasonic cassette recorder (portable, but not a walk-man.)
In both cases the only way to get them to load was to have the volume and
tone both cranked all the way to the top! Seems very odd to think about
now, but it worked volume on 9, tone on 9 and it would load no problem.
It also seems to me that if it is loading correctly it does display some
sort of message ....but i also remember waiting quite awhile for things to
load and finding out they didn't load correctly so i may be incorrect
about the "loading program message"

Also, the walk-man was by far the best and easiest way to load programs
from tape. It worked every time! With the panasonic machine...I still had
to fiddle with it.
