PUTTING A IIGS INTO A MINI-TOWER CASE
=====================================
A computer store in Albuquerque is selling very clean "mini-tower" cases
for $40 each, with power supply included.
I'm busy with other projects right now, but would like to "tower-ize" a
IIgs CPU this summer.
I've ordered m/f ADB extension cables already for the keyboard. These
seem necessary to run the extra distance for the keyboard.
Attaching Bugg-Power cable attachment to the power supply will be easy.
I could also install a DC 12 volt fan in the casing to blow air around.
Can a joystick extension cable be constructed???
But surely there are other problems to overcome. Can Apple II disk drives
be installed in the bays? Will they fit? I have several half-height
Apple 5.25" drives but dont know if they cab be daisy chained.
What about the support of interface cards when tilted sideways?
Is the mini-tower size big enough for the IIgs, two 3.5" drives, and two
5.25" drives??? I've heard that tower cases vare in three sizes: mini -
medium - large.
If there is a IIgs - TOWER FAQ file anywhere, could someone e-mail it to
me at:
