You won't need to buy the software, A disk image of the latest version is available on the "ground" ftp server. I think this version needs the PCT to be fully populated with RAM. Also, I think that there's an "autoconfigure" type menu in it somewhere. One warning, do not plug a Unidisk drive into the PCT. Both will get damaged. Appledisk is ok.
