That card is a known power sucker. It tends to overheat the computer.
The consensus is that you should have a fan in your system, such as
a System Saver. If that does not help, get a more powerful power supply,
such as the Buggie power units or rewire a PC power supply yourself
(be careful, I fried a GS motherboard by making a mistake). If a heftier
power supply does not help, some folks recommend fattening the leads
to the Second Sight card so that it can get enough power. This I don't
know how to do, but Rubywand may be able to help.
You said your Inwords can't be seen? If Inwords uses double-hires, the
Second Sight can't display it. Connecting a second monitor, preferably
composite monochrome, to the composite video port of the GS will let
you continue working when the Second Sight blanks out.
