MAc sounds on GS

Does anyone have any exact specs that would help me convert sound files
from Mac to GS? MacSoundGrabber only works about 25% of the time for me.
 
I can use Sound Converter on the Mac to change System7 sounds that
MacSoundGrabber chokes on to AIFF files & the HS sound shop will work
another 25% of the time.
 
That still leaves me getting only half the sounds I'd like to convert.
As I start w/ System 7 sounds on the MAC, maybe  I need to ask on a
newsgroup there what the variables are, but I was wondering what the GS
might require on this end to make it easy to grab a sound file.
