//GS boot problem solved

Hey, I want to thank all of you who've responded.

Had I had a few more minutes of troubleshooting over the phone, I would have
seen the problem before posting the request for help.

It seems as how somebody in the family erased all the files in the boot
partition of the hard drive.  I talked him through copying the files from a
system disk onto the hard drive and everything works fine, now.

He said the disk was labeled System Disk 5.04.

It's been a long time, but I though I had a more current OS installed.

What's the latest OS version number?  What's the best OS version number?
How can I get a copy if he doesn't have it stashed on one of the disks I
sent him?
