Apple IIgs and Mac IIsi AppleTalk connection. Help needed.

I've just received an Mac IIsi that I plan on using as a peripheral
for my IIgs.  What I hope to do is connect the IIgs to the Mac using
AppleTalk, and connect the Mac IIsi to the Win95-Ethernet LAN in my
house which has a proxy Internet server on my main PC box.  Is there a
way to do this?  Here are some details that you might need:

The Mac has a Ethernet card installed and EtherTalk drivers.  Though
it connects to the hub just fine (link light and no error lights), I
don't see anything on the network.

I've connected the IIgs to the Mac via Slot 1 (serial printer port) on
the IIgs and connected to the serial port on the Mac, and I installed
the AppleTalk drivers on the IIgs.  AppleTalk is "on" in the control
panel (had to move the RAMFast card to slot 2), and slot 1 is set to
"your card."  The IIgs doesn't see anything either.  Is there a
special cable needed for this AppleTalk connection?

The Mac is a vanilla IIsi with 9MB RAM, 60MB HD, and monochrome
monitor.  It has an Ethernet card installed, which seems to be
functioning.

	2- 5.25" floppy drives (1 Apple and 1 Mitac)
	RamFAST v3.01f
	420MB Maxtor SCSI HDD
	105MB Toshiba SCSI HDD
	Toshiba SCSI 1x CD-ROM drive
	150MB Bernoulli Box cartridge drive
	4MB RAM in an OctoRAM memory board.  (Trying for 8MB)
	TransWarp GS accelerator.
	PCTransporter
	Stereo Sound Card.
	GS/OS system 6.0.1
	Buggie Power Supply

I've looked at the FAQs, but didn't get too much out of it, especially
on the Mac side.  I've seen several people mention they have a Mac
connected to their IIgs, any help from ya'll is greatly appreciated.
