DOS 3.3 recognizes only upper-case commands. Try using CATALOG instead.

Applesoft resides in ROM, so it can't be overwritten by Integer Basic,
which is loaded into the language card. You can switch between the two
languages using
]INT (from Applesoft to Integer)
>FP (from Integer to Applesoft)
I'm not sure about lower case in BASIC commands. Best thing would be to
try your examples again, but use upper case instead.
