Well, I knew a few people in the Portland, OR area that ran FirstClass
based warez BBSes, and it is likely that most pirate boards are gone, the
ones I knew about usually ran off of a very small, old(and slow! usually
9600 or 14.4 modems) Mac and lasted maybe two months max. What do you
expect from a bunch of 12-16 year olds? Those are pretty much the only ones
that you will hear about(largely due to the amount of braging.. "I GOT A
BSS! I GOT A BBS! EVERYONE LOGON!!!"), as any pirate boards run by adults
are smarter than to tell everyone they know...

Don't tell that to the software companies...
Well, it looks like there's only one BBS in my area, but I'm not sure if
Salem is in the local calling area. The only boards I can get on with my
IIe(300bps modem) are running on Commodore 64's or TI-99's with 2400bps
modems. <sigh>
