Yeah, I have to agree..
In the C64 newsgroup, you wont see overzealous anti-piracy nuts trying to
prevent someone from copying/downloading a game like "Gateway to Apshai".
In the C64 newsgroups, everyone gets excited when a hardware/software developer
tries to market a new piece of hardware.
In the C64 newsgroups, people actually care for the platform they work on, and
don't use it a method to wage power stuggles or assert their supremacy to
others.
In constrast, the Apple II newsgroups:
IN the A2 newsgroups, people constantly bicker over the distribution
of commercially available software titles, regardless of the fact that
the companies either dont care, or dont exist.
In the A2 newsgroups, when a new piece of software is released,
all the power crazed a2 users complain that every AOL newbie is gonna
pirate it, so why bother developing.
In the a2 newsgroups, most of the "leaders" are more interested
in maintaining complete control of their little niche of the a2
world than actually benefitting it's existance.
