Here's a simple thing to try: if there's some peripheral which you never use
in conjunction with your 5.25 drives, put its card in slot 6 and just switch
back and forth as needed. I have my superdrive card in slot 6 and a slinky 
card in slot 5.

Also on a ROM 01, Appletalk uses the printer port if slot 7 is switched to
Appletalk and both slots 1 and 2 are switched to cards.
