My SoundMeister sound board seems to be partly broken. That is, I can
do audio input with it, and all audio records fine. However, the
audio output is silent. I have to turn the volume on my stereo very
high to get any sound from either of the audio output jacks (and that's
very whooshy sound).
The built-in headphone jack on the IIGS delivers sound just fine.
Question is, is there a particular chip which has gone out, and can it
be replaced cheaply? i.e. can I use a chip extractor to remove the
bad chip and fit in a good one?
I know with most devices, it would need to be looked at by a technician;
however, if there is a chip which usually goes out, I would prefer to
try that technique first.
Cost/availability?
