Noticeably slower makes sense; if I remember correctly, Ethernet is
10,000,000 bits/second while LocalTalk is 57,600 bits/second.

That would be noticeably faster. But then, if you are talking about
hooking up a IIgs, it would probably be easier to deal with the LocalTalk,
and the slower speed would be better suited to an unaccelerated IIgs
anyway. Hmmm...
Just some thoughts from someone who got in over his head in the third
paragraph... 8-)
