Apple ][ .. on an ISA card???
Here's another "mystery card" for the net to identify. If it is what I
think it must be, I'm stunned that I never heard of it before.
It's an 8-bit ISA card for the Intel range of computers. Postcard form
factor. The card is Apple-branded and is copyright Apple Computer 1986.
The part number is 820-0151-D (I think); the serial number is A70000201 .
The metal bulkhead even has the Apple perfectly stamped right into the
metal.
The components on this card include:
6502 (65C02P2; Rockwell)
8530 (Zilog SCC)
Apple-branded EPROM: P/N 342-0007-B
(AMD 2764A) Copyright Apple `87
64kB RAM (NEC D4364C) 150ns
Three PALs: card art labels them as
DMA, PCI, IPO
DB-9 outboard (on ISA bulkhead) connector
Eight-switch DIP switch
I figure it's either some contorted PC Appletalk adapter from the dawn of
AppleTalk or it's an Apple II hardware coprocessor with a CGA port on the
back for video out.
If anyone can clue me in on this, I'd be grateful. If it is indeed an
Apple II coprocessor, I wonder aloud whether or not it can be used in any
world other than a DOS 3 or later system... I found this card deep in a
warehouse bin and there is, of course, no manual.
