Never heard of that one.  Perhaps you meant "Escape Ctrl-@"?  Pressing
Escape while in escape mode will just return to normal mode.

Note that on a IIe or IIgs, these two only work if the 80-column
firmware is active.  The IIc also supports them while the 80-column
firmware is not active.
