Ironically, in my book, anyone who likes the Macintosh OS (and
its UI) has no credibility when it comes to what makes a good OS.
Its shortcomings are so blatently obvious and in-your-face, I don't
understand how people can still stand up for it. Blind loyality and
faith in Apple maybe? Still looking at the situtation as it were 3
years ago or more perhaps?
OTOH, I don't really feel comfortable saying that since there are
many people I've known on comp.sys.apple2 for years--who make logical
arguments, intelligent obversations and overall possess a strong
credibility--yet still very fond of the Macintosh OS. I can fully
understand the dislikes about the PC, since I share a lot of them
myself, but the Mac makes a poor alternative. For the longest time
the Apple IIgs was my alternative to _both_ platforms (and it had
solid strengths some 5 years ago) but its not realistic now with
the hardware being terribly obsolite and a complete lack of software
support today.

Maybe once Apple collapses (which is guaranteed to happen soon,
there is no doubt now) you may eventually be forced to, unless the
Macintosh is resurrected like Gateway is attempting to do with the
Amiga. Or another alternative surfaces, and that is something which
I would look forward to.
