How do you remove permanent marker?

How do you move a stationary shopping center?

They tend to put "permanent" on labels if the product is 
permanent....I.E., stays there, not reversible.


Ok, enough joking...  I have have permanent marker on apple II's, and 
tried to remove it.

You can rub for a while with some lacquer thinner.  You will remove 
plastic at the same time.  For a while, the rag will turn up black from 
the ink you remove, then the rest is stuck, and the rag will be clean no 
matter how hard you rub.
